LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Dear Readers,
Canada Israel Fashion Week was born f rom a conversation I
have never forgotten.
After producing a ladies' modest fashion show, an elegant
woman in her eighties approached me and said, "Why don't
you create a fashion week for our community? Observant
women don't have many events created with them in mind.
And perhaps, through fashion, you can help change the
narrative by showcasing the incredible talent we have to
offer. I've never seen anyone argue about politics at a
fashion show."
She was right.
With more than two decades of experience in fashion
design and runway production, I set out to create more
than a fashion event. Canada Israel Fashion Week was
founded to open new markets for Israeli and Canadian
designers while celebrating fashion, art, culture and
philanthropy. More importantly, it was created to bring
people together through creativity and shared experiences.
One of our proudest accomplishments last year was not only
raising over $300,000 for Hadassah Hospital through CHW
FASHION BLOOMS, but also welcoming guests f rom all areas
of the GTA Jewish diaspora ( Secular, Orthodox, North &
South), as well as many f irst-time guests who attended
simply out of curiosity. They discovered an inspiring
celebration of talent, innovation, and community.
That is how perceptions change—not through division, but
through culture, inclusivity, and beauty.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey. I look
forward to welcoming you back for another unforgettable
Canada Israel Fashion Week this fall.
